BorderTally builds free, single-purpose calculators for people dealing with cross-border life — importing a parcel, counting visa days, converting grades, or planning a trip abroad.
Each tool runs entirely in your browser. We don't require an account and we don't upload your inputs to a server. Where a tool relies on official rules (tax thresholds, visa windows), we show the rule and link its source so you can verify it.
Who makes this
BorderTally is an independent project built and maintained by a solo developer. We focus on doing a handful of calculators really well, keeping them free, and showing the rules and sources behind every estimate so you can check our work.
Editorial approach
BorderTally is not a scraped article site. Each live page is built around a working calculator, a source-backed rule table or dated planning dataset, and original explanatory notes about the method and limits. When a result depends on facts we cannot know — an exact tariff code, a local sales-tax district, a university evaluator, a visa status, or a traveller's real dates — we label the result as an estimate instead of presenting it as a final answer.
The public methodology page explains how we choose sources, test formula paths, and handle corrections.
How we keep it free
We show advertising and, on some pages, affiliate links to relevant services (such as shipping forwarders or travel insurance). These never change the result a calculator gives you.
Corrections and updates
Cross-border rules move. If you find a stale threshold, rate, visa rule, or source link, send the page URL and official reference through the contact page. Source-backed corrections take priority over new landing pages.
